Creamy Adrenal Cocktail Recipe

ThisΒ is my favorite way to enjoy an adrenal cocktail because it helps to keep your blood sugar balanced. Adding healthy fat and protein to an adrenal cocktail will help your body absorb the sugar from the juiceΒ more slowly, keeping your blood sugar balanced. It’s also so deliciousΒ andΒ the creamy element reminds me of a creamsicle. This creamy adrenal cocktail recipeΒ makes the perfect afternoon treat, especially on a hot summer day. ItΒ is made upΒ ofΒ vitamin C, potassium, and sodium.Β This balance of vitamins and minerals is used by the adrenal glands to produce hormones and combat fatigueΒ andΒ as a bonus, this combo is also great for hydration.

What is an Adrenal Cocktail?

What is an adrenal cocktailΒ youΒ ask? It’s an easy way to replenish vitamins and minerals that are easily lost in our day-to-day lives,Β specificallyΒ pinpointing the needs of our adrenal glands. Daily stress can deplete our bodies with some of the vitamins and minerals they need for the adrenal glands to function well. For example, when you are under times ofΒ stressΒ your adrenal glands need more vitamin C to functionΒ properlyΒ and produce hormones that help to regulate many functions in the body: blood pressure, metabolism, your immune system, and responses to stress. The daily grind of working, stress, carting family around and overwhelm causes a common health issue called adrenal fatigue.

What is Adrenal Fatigue?

Adrenal fatigue is fatigue your body experiences when your adrenals are overworked and undernourished. It canΒ be characterizedΒ by different symptoms and an inability to handle stress.Β AddingΒ inΒ an adrenal cocktail every day can helpΒ replenish your minerals, helping your adrenal glandsΒ toΒ recover and function properly.Β In myΒ life, I have seen the addition of an adrenal cocktail help with afternoon slumps. Instead of another cup of coffee, I make an adrenal cocktail and enjoy it in the sunshine if possible.

Why You’ll Love the Creamy Adrenal Cocktail

  • Ability to prevent afternoon slumps and fatigue. Try adding a creamy adrenal cocktail to your diet every day for a week to improve your fatigue, mood and overall health.
  • Works better than coffee.
  • It is creamy and delicious.
  • Refreshing and great to enjoy on a hot day.
  • Replenishes electrolytes that can be depleted from heat, sickness or stress.
  • It’s a special treat the whole family, even kids can enjoy.
  • A great way to relax.

Creamy Adrenal Cocktail Recipe Ingredients

First, you will needΒ organic orange juiceΒ whichΒ offersΒ lots ofΒ vitamin C and antioxidants.Β The adrenal glandsΒ are concentratedΒ with vitamin C and its antioxidant properties are used by the adrenal glands to produce hormones.Β Next, you’ll needΒ coconut water,Β whichΒ isΒ rich in minerals like potassium. Potassium is another mineral that is used up quickly by the adrenal glands during times of stress. Some recipes call for cream of tartarΒ butΒ I prefer coconut water.Β You’ll also need a high-qualityΒ seaΒ saltΒ to provide sodium.Β SodiumΒ isΒ actuallyΒ usedΒ in manyΒ processesΒ in the bodyΒ andΒ your cells can not function properly without it.Β It is needed to bring nutrients into our cells and isΒ neededΒ by your adrenal glands.Β It is one of the key nutrientsΒ thatΒ many people with adrenal fatigueΒ are lacking.Β Make sure to use a high-quality brand like Redmond RealΒ Salt,Β to ensure it’s clean and contains lots of minerals. Lastly, I likeΒ to addΒ coconut creamΒ orΒ heavy creamΒ to the adrenal cocktail recipe for blood sugar stability. I even use raw milk instead of cream if that’s all I have. It tastesΒ amazing, just like a creamsicle.

Brand Recommendations

  • Orange juice β€” Uncle Matt’s organic orange juice or fresh squeezed
  • Coconut water β€” Harmless Harvest coconut water
  • Heavy cream β€” Kalona Super Natural organic whipping cream
  • Coconut cream β€” Native Forest organic coconut cream, simple
  • Sea salt β€” Redmond’s Real salt

How to Make an Orange Creamsicle Adrenal Cocktail

This orange creamsicle adrenal cocktail is so easy to make, just pour the orange juice, coconut water, and cream into a glass, top with sea salt, and enjoy. I like to enjoy this drink with a protein-rich afternoon snack, this helps even more to keep your blood sugar balanced.Β

Tips from a Holistic Nutritionist

  • Adrenal cocktails are a great addition to your diet if you are dealing with lots of stress. If you add them consistently for a few weeks and are not experiencing any relief it may also be important to adjust your diet to support your body. Making sure you are eating enough and getting enough protein. Both are simple ways to start support your body better so that it can handle stress properly.
  • If you don’t like coconut water you can also try aloe vera juice or a mix in a mashed banana. Both are great sources of potassium.
  • If you are constantly thirsty or often in the heat, make sure to replenish electrolytes like sodium and potassium often. The creamy adrenal cocktail is great for this but a my homemade electrolyte drink is too. Find the recipe here.
